Istanbul, Turkey$94.00+
Birds on a line was taken while walking around the Istanbul in March of 2021.
Birds often gather on telephone lines because they provide a convenient and elevated perch for them to rest and socialize. Additionally, the lines themselves can act as a source of warmth, especially during colder months. Interestingly, different species of birds prefer different types of perches and will often segregate themselves accordingly. For example, smaller birds tend to group together on thinner wires while larger birds prefer thicker cables. Some birds, such as crows and ravens, have even been known to use the lines to communicate with each other. Overall, telephone lines serve as a useful gathering place for birds and offer a unique opportunity for birdwatchers to observe these social creatures.
