The old New York Yankees Stadium, also known as “The House That Ruth Built,” was a historic baseball stadium located in the Bronx, New York. It served as the home of the New York Yankees from 1923 to 2008 and was the site of many iconic moments in baseball history. The stadium was renowned for its distinctive design, including its arched facade and copper roof, and its famous monuments dedicated to Yankees greats such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Joe DiMaggio. Interestingly, the stadium was also the first in baseball to feature a permanent structure for broadcasting games. Second base home plate was also a unique feature of the stadium, as it was positioned slightly askew from the diamond to provide a better view for fans in the stands. Today, the old Yankee Stadium serves as a reminder of the rich history of baseball in New York City.
